Who is going to look out for the students?
The JCTA teachers union and the Bevin Administration are lined up for a big battle.
The reason? Mutual distrust.
Caught in the middle: Our students.
Teaching was my first profession, and I’ve had an abiding interest in it since I left it (in frustration) years ago.
I understand the importance of having excellent teachers and paying them fairly. I also understand the need for innovation in the way we teach and for a diversity of teaching methods for different students.
As a Libertarian I’ll be an independent voice in the Legislature – beholden to neither side in the political battles, only to the students.
I promise to work to see that all students get an excellent education.
